The Caribbean Season is in our sights!
Despite the recent Hurricanes Irma and Maria that hit many of the islands in the Caribbean this hasn't affected our programme. In fact, the islands are asking for things to return to normal as quickly as possible and are looking forward to the sailing communities return.
The RORC have already stated their racing programme is going ahead as well as the BVI spring regatta and Antigua Race week!
We have so much to get excited about so take a look at our website or call our office.
We have many cruises taking place from the Mustique and Grenadines cruise where we explore some islands that can only be reached by boat! And swim in the crystal clear waters with turtles and colourful exotic fish to strolling the streets of friendly Bequia and of course the island of Mustique! It doesn't get more chilled than that! This is one of our Chief Instructors favourite events!
We also have the Dominica Discovery Sail - this was new to our calender last year and what a hit it was! This trip takes you to the island of Martinique approx 20nm North of St.Lucia where you will stop in the beautiful harbour of St.Anne and then sail up the leeward side pulling into a couple of tranquil bays with sandy beaches, before you head North to the Island of Dominica! Considered the emerald island of the Caribbean! It has rain forests and waterpools to explore as well as some spectaular views up the mountains!
We also have some deliveries for those who want overnight passages to build on their sea miles... many of the deliveries include stops along the way and this gives you an opportunity to skipper a passage yourself! great for the Log Book!
Our RYA courses mainly take place in January and February and these are extended over 7 days to allow more time in the Caribbean onboard! You will explore the coastline of St. Lucia from Marigot bay, Anse Couchon and the Pitons of course! The extra time also allows you to learn some Essential Navigation with our fantastic RYA Skippers should you be keen to get stuck into some chartwork!
Finally, our Racing programme starts with Grenada Regatta end of January, to the RORC 600, BVI Regatta and the well known Antigua Race week in May!
GFS have been taking part in all of these race events over the years and are well established in the Caribbean Racing Circuit! Each event is differnet so if you think you may be interested just give us a call and our office staff and Chief Instructor can guide you to the right event for you! Our Racing calender is already taking bookings so be quick!
You will make memories that will last a lifetime, laugh a lot with friends and learn plenty, as well as relax under the Caribbean sun too...
