About the event

Over 100 yachts will be competing in this annual event, which has become one of the Caribbean's premier yacht races with a reputation for serious competition and serious partying. The weeklong BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival takes you throughout the beautiful British Virgin Islands. Starting at Nanny Cay the Sailing Festival races up the Sir Frances Drake Channel to the renowned Bitter End Yacht Club. After the warm up, the BVI Spring Regatta kicks off three days of some of the best racing in the Caribbean. Only the best survive to take home the Gold and the Glory, along with great stories and experiences that keeps sailors coming back year after year. You can participate in the entire seven day BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival, just the four-day Festival, or the three-day Regatta - just let us know.

We offer a full train/race package during which time we'll cover:

• Racing rules
• Starting techniques
• Upwind boat handling
• Downwind boat handling

Our professional crew will train you to ensure that the racing is safe, fun and that each crew member is able to make a valuable contribution to the team effort. Prior race experience is not essential although some previous sailing experience is handy. The skipper will assess the overall crew capability before deciding whether to race in the spinnaker class or not.

About the Island

Powdery white-sand beaches, lush green mountains, and a sheltered yacht-filled harbour characterize the island of Tortola, where the past of the West Indies meets the present of the BVI. The protected anchorages at Brandywine Bay, Cane Garden Bay, Hodge's Creek Marina Cay, Soper's Hole and Trellis Bay are ideal for boaters. Secluded palm-shaded beaches at Apple Bay, Brewer's Bay, Elizabeth Beach, Josiah's Bay Beach, Long Bay Beach and Smuggler's Cove make for excellent swimming and snorkelling. There are many well-equipped facilities for fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving and more.
Other activities:
Post-racing parties are planned for every night providing an excellent opportunity to swap stories over a few drinks. The fun is non-stop and the buzz is really exhilarating! If you plan a few extra days stay then there are loads of amazingly beautiful places to swim, snorkel and visit.
